With an intuitive sense of form, Baltimore artist Liz Tepper excels in various styles of painting, from representational art to abstract, covering subjects as diverse as desert landscapes and Native-American Indians to still lifes and animal portraits. Her Native-American background shows up in earth and sky color contrasts and in her somber mood paintings, most of which are executed in oil or acrylic. But her work reaches beyond any single-note subject and is most notable for its breadth and variety. Her ease in moving between abstract and representational painting is a hallmark of her style.
Although she is largely self-taught, Liz has studied at School 33 in Baltimore under the well-known artists Amanda Engels, Dana Marie Hosler, and Nancy Linden, and was also trained at the Mitchell School of Fine Arts in Baltimore.
